I have been struggling with graphically representing soft issues this is an attempt at trying to cover that missing piece of my work.

I like the sketches. They are very loose but very thoughtful. I have also struggled with the way to show soft issues in drawing form. You are not the only one. It is a hard thing to grasp and I am not sure I fully get all of it... Try to move forward and relate your issues discovered to your proposed solutions.

I notice that the prominent thing that pops up in your analysis (here) is "diversity". I am interested in how you can enhance and promote the diversity in your design. You may choose to focus on something else but it seems like that is the path that you are on. Is there something in Union Square that promotes diversity? Maybe there is another precedent about promoting diversity?

I look forward to your presentation.

Good luck to everyone, and GOOD NIGHT!

@Jeremy
Thanks for your feedback; Though I believe you have nailed the soft issue with your crime idea. You have found real data to back up your sketches or vise versa. When I think about promoting Diversity I think about mixed use and mixed income. I would like to create spaces that are flexible and offer the user options or possibilities. Diversity feels like a good "soft" issue to tackle. I have a number of hard "issues" or opportunities to create experiences that relate & enhance the Union Square Experience.

Some advise you can try for sketches; Sometimes I create a loose sketch without thinking about the meaning at first. I then try to pull meaning out of the sketch or work on finding a relationship to my ideas.
